The Diekirch rubber weir has taken the place of a fixed threshold once located in the same place. The new weir serves several purposes at the same time. The upgraded hydraulic performance permits to reduce the later level during flood periods on the one hand. On the other hand, the rubber weir allows the operation of a wildwater kayaking track. For operating the track the upstream water is dammed by the two spans while the water discharge into the kayaking track is controlled by a steel gate arranged in parallel.
